BIO
Born in Oviedo in the early 80s, David Mallada discovered the art of mixing from a very young age. His musical training was based in Asturias, where the sounds of acid, trance, house and techno marked his beginnings both as a clubber and DJ. Emblematic clubs such as La Real, Fm, Babys, La Fábrica and the Albéniz Theatre were decisive scenarios to consolidate their artistic identity. The big jump came in the eleventh edition of Aquasella: a legendary set at dawn that left a mark on the collective memory of the festival and placed it on the national radar. From there, his signing by the Peacock agency projected him to theatres and festivals throughout the country, in addition to making his way abroad, with performances in the United Kingdom. Its style is characterised by versatility and good taste: sets that cover different branches of electronics without losing coherence or intensity, always with the track as the central axis. That broad vision of music is also the engine behind Not Play Records, a label founded and directed by Mallada. In just its first references, the label has already positioned itself in sales lists and has achieved the support of international DJs and producers, becoming a growing platform within contemporary techno. With a solid career, an expanding own label and a sound that combines respect for the roots and vision of the future, David Mallada reaffirms himself as one of the essential names of the Spanish electronic scene.
